What started off Friday as the first real warm weather during the school holidays ended in tragedy when a 15-year-old boy from Zwelethemba in Worcester drowned.
According to the police the boy and six of his friends went swimming in a dam on the farm Oudewagensdrift in Overhex. Only the boy got into the dam to swim and drowned, says a police spokesperson. No foul play is suspected at this stage and the police have opened an inquest docket.
