The Grade 4 and 5 learners of Lifestyle Christian Academy in Worcester recently enjoyed an expedition to Kleinplasie museum. The group saw how the pioneers of South Africa lived, travelled, made soap and processed tobacco. Part of the fun experience at the Worcester Museum was riding on a donkey cart and on a tractor. At the ARC Gallery they heard interesting stories behind paintings and sculptures, and that art is not just about using a paintbrush. The field trip ended with lunch, roosterkoek grilled on an open fire. Among the learners was Simon Mettler, a 11-year old boy from Switzerland who attended the school from January to April. He was elated by the experience of encountering genuine South African culture on the field trip. Teachers Beatrice Steyn and Esabelle van der Merwe accompanied the learners.Foto:
