It is very difficult to understand how the 30-year-old man who drowned at the De la Bat pool on Saturday was discovered only on Monday morning. (see article on page 1).
This is so especially in light of the circumstances in which the family, who was at the pool when he went missing, informed the lifeguard that he was missing. They even went back the next day to ask. Not to heap blame on anyone, as there may have been a number of factors playing into the end result of this scenario.
We sincerely hope the municipality will at least launch a proper investigation into the events that led up to the discovery on Monday, so the family can find some peace.
It is going to get hotter still, as February is still ahead of us and the crowds wanting to cool down will not get smaller. Our sincerest condolences go to the deceased’s family.
