Cape Winelands Bowls hosted the first prestigious Western Cape Veteran Championship in picturesque Bonnievale on 14 and 15 October with top players from the Western Province taking part.
A wonderful display of sportsmanship was seen among the 12 ladies and 12 men who played in sectional play followed by a knock-out round. The Winelands’ own Callie van der Merwe, also 2022 Bowls SA Veteran Champion and Marthie Pringle from Eden took the honours. Winelands Bowls wishes to all the sponsors, Bonnievale Bowls Club and the many volunteers from Cape Winelands.
