A young Grade 6 learner from Worcester Primary School represented his school at the South African Junior Chess Championships and he scored an excellent 5.5 out of 7.
Jaeden Beukes (11) was part of the Overberg U.14 boys team when he recorded this his score and ended in 5th position. Following this competition in December he has been invited to participate in the SA Junior Closed Chess Championships that will take place during April.
Beukes wants to thank everyone that supported him during the preparations for the tournament.
