Tickets are selling fast for the historical 125th edition of Paarl Boxing Day Track Challenge, which takes place on 26 December at the Faure Street Stadium in Paarl.

Up for grabs now is R100 000 in prize money, and the organisation is pulling out all the stops to make Paarl Boxing Day Track Challenge, the most memorable and biggest ever!

The historic Paarl Boxing Day Track Challenge will see South Africa’s top professionals as well as a host of international riders tackle one another in front of the passionate Faure Street Stadium crowd.

An international line-up can be expected and 2021 winner, Jonas Rickaert, is back to defend his title.

Local hero and junior Springbok cyclist Ethan Kulsenwill be taking on the big guns Other local top cyclists include Morgan Jones. Gustav Roller and Zane Zalzwedel will be displaying their young talents.

Paarl Boxing Day is well known worldwide, being the oldest event in all forms of cycling in the world, starting in 1897. Not only is it the biggest track cycling event in Africa, but it’s also one of the most spectated sport events.

With venue limitations finally something of the past, organisers are expecting a capacity crowd for the 125th staging and to contribute to the festive atmosphere the organisation is erecting a beer tent, which will be operational until the finish of the 25-mile (40,23 km) race at 18:30.

This years event organiser is Zanne Parsons.

And added to this year’s programme is the Kiddies Development Race after it was removed a few years ago.
